Time since PG2007: days

Project Golf is a Ryder Cup-style tournament pitting four golfers from Aberdeen against four golfers from Edinburgh between Thursday 16th August to Sunday 19th August. With friendships going out the window, it's North versus South on the Edinburgh fairways, playing for pride, one-up-manship and most importantly the chance to drink from the coveted Sally Gunnell Memorial Trophy.

The origins of the contest...

It all began on the 22nd day of February on the 2007th year of our Lord on a busy work day when Barry Watt penned an email to James MacLachlan after a phone call with Graeme Mutch the night before.

Then, on the 14th day of March, it was James who sold it to the masses and enticed the potential combatants.

Martin Booth was first to react.

Three hours later, Ian Gibson was in.

Ten minutes later, Andy Donald revealed his intentions.

Alan Grant was a verbal affirmative and when phantom emailer Sandy MacGregor broke his silence a week later, we knew Project Golf 2007 was a go.
