And why the portfolio? And what does the "L." stand
for? All good questions.
Well, besides design, my elevator pitch would have to include
my passion for sports. My spare time invariably involves me playing
one of several ball games and I just love keeping active. I have
also done my fair share of travelling and have never had a better
time than when I went around the world after my Undergraduate
degree.
On the qualifications side of things, I graduated with a Postgraduate
Distinction in Msc Design and Digital Media from The University
of Edinburgh in August 2006. This compliments my aforementioned
Undergraduate degree where I received First Class Honours from
The Robert Gordon University in BA Corporate Communication in
2004.
I am currently an editorial artist/graphic designer for the Evening
Express -- the leading local newspaper in Aberdeen and the North-east
of Scotland. Working primarily in Adobe Photoshop in conjunction
with frame editing software, I am responsible for the presentation
of the latest news, sport, entertainment and fashion feature articles
among other run-of-paper design. Whilst meeting three daily deadlines
in a dynamic and high-pressure environment, I am also heavily
involved with external promotional material, ad campaigns and
providing artwork for the new in-house website.
Prior to this, I taught a 3D modelling software (Alias Maya) to
an international Postgraduate class at Edinburgh University. The
lecture presentation and delivery combined with practical one-on-one
tutoring proved to be a highly enjoyable and rewarding experience.
Lastly, I have been a freelance web designer for the last 4 years,
building a steady portfolio which has lead me to building this
website.
I direct you to my CV/resume for a more factual
account of who I am and what I've done.
Oh, and the "L." stands for "Lee" just in
case you were wondering.
